Why choose Onward Lodge?

Onward lodge is held at Fleetwood Masonic Hall meeting on the 4th Monday from September to April. We are a forward-thinking lodge adapting with the times to make Freemasonry accessible to men from all walks of life.

We are proud to have members across a wide age range with young masons, masons with young families, experienced masons and members who have joined later on in life. This means that no matter what point you are at in your life you will feel at home with Onward Lodge. Onward Lodge provides the opportunity to meet men from all different walks of life in the absence of religious, political and social barriers. It is a unique organisation which supports:

  • self-development
  • promotes family and community values
  • honesty in business
  • courtesy in society
  • and fairness in all things

If any of you have visited our Provincial Website you will know that our aim is to be good citizens by practising the ‘highest moral and social standards’, and words that best describe the principles of our organisation are: IntegrityKindnessHonesty and Fairness.

A Lodge meeting is usually split in to two parts

1. Concentrates on Administrative Procedures – minutes, accounts and the general running of the Lodge.
2. Involves a Masonic Ceremony where we perform our ritual.

These ceremonies teach moral lessons and citizenship through participation in symbolic ‘plays’ and these include:

  • The admission of a new member – which is called an Initiation
  • The installation of the new Master of the Lodge – which is, not surprisingly, called the Installation.
  • and we also receive lectures on all aspects of Freemasonry

After the Lodge meeting we hold a less formal social gathering, known as the ‘Festive Board’ which enables us to meet socially, usually over a meal. Sometimes our ‘Festive Boards’ are open to Non-Masons.

When Do We Meet?

Practice/Rehearsal Meetings

In addition to formal or business meetings, the members of the Lodge usually meet to practice the ceremonies/ proceedings on the 2nd and 3rd Mondays of the months in which we meet, excluding December.

These start at 7pm, all members are encouraged to attend where possible for them to do so.

Regular Meetings

The Lodge formally meets eight (8) times a year on the
4th Monday of the month September to April, except for December, when it’s the 2nd Monday.
