Onward Lodge Summer BBQ: A Celebration of Community and Brotherhood
This past weekend, we held the annual Onward Lodge summed BBQ, hosted by our esteemed Worshipful Master, Kieron Griffiths. The event took place at St Hildas Church in Carleton, a location that perfectly complemented the warm, inviting atmosphere of the day.
A Feast to Remember
No BBQ is complete without a sumptuous spread – a huge thank you to everyone that contributed to the food as always – we couldn’t have done it without you. This year’s event certainly did not disappoint. Our team of dedicated volunteers fired up the grills early, preparing an array of delicious dishes. From juicy burgers and succulent sausages to a variety of other options, there was something for everyone, ensuring no one left hungry.
A Time for Reflection and Fellowship
One of the highlights of the day was a moment of reflection led by the Worshipful Master. Kieron Griffiths spoke eloquently about the values of Freemasonry, emphasising the importance of brotherhood, charity, and community. His words resonated deeply with all present, reminding us of the principles that bind us together.
A Successful Charity Raffle
In the spirit of giving, the Onward Lodge organised a charity raffle. The raffle featured an array of fantastic prizes, generously donated by lodge members. Thanks to the enthusiasm and generosity of all attendees, we raised a significant amount that will go a long way in supporting our community initiatives – between the raffle and the mystery box we raised just over £650.
Closing the Day
As the sun began to set, the BBQ slowly wound down. Families and friends gathered around, sharing stories and laughter, savouring the last moments of a truly memorable day. Looking Forward
