The Passing of Bro. Wayne Banner

Onward Lodge convened for a momentous gathering, commemorating the passage of Bro. Wayne Banner amidst a distinguished ceremony that captured the attention of nearly 60 brethren. The ambiance was charged with anticipation as multiple lodges vied for the coveted Crowd Jewel, infusing the occasion with an air of friendly competition and camaraderie.

Under the skilled guidance of WM Kieron Griffiths, the ceremony unfolded flawlessly, a testament to the meticulous dedication of the brethren. With unwavering precision, the WM, supported by his Deacons and Wardens, conducted the ritual, bestowing upon Bro. Wayne Banner the honour he rightfully deserved in his passing to the rank of a Fellowcraft Freemason.

Following the ceremonial proceedings, the festive board commenced, igniting the hall with warmth, joy, and resonant laughter. Amidst convivial conversations, delectable fare, and refreshing libations, the brethren relished in the fellowship that epitomises the essence of Freemasonry. Toasts reverberated throughout the hall, honouring the Worshipful Master and the evening’s esteemed candidate, eager to learn and exploration illuminated the path ahead, hinting at boundless potential within the fraternity.

The gathering was graced by the presence of numerous visiting brethren from diverse lodges and esteemed masters, enriching the occasion with their unique perspectives and shared brotherhood.

In the spirit of charity and benevolence, the raffle proved to be a resounding success, raising over £300 in support of both Masonic and non-Masonic causes, while the mystery box added a further £70.

As the curtain descended on this memorable evening, the Crowd Jewel was passed over to Peace and Unity Lodge No 3966 with an impressive team of 9 visitors.

This marked the conclusion of Onward Lodge’s meetings until September, as the onset of summer recess beckoned. Though the lodge temporarily adjourned, the bonds forged and memories cherished during this gathering would linger on, a beacon of light guiding brethren until they reconvene once more.
